In memory of Jeffrey Cherbaka
The Jeffrey Cherbaka Bursary is named after
Jeffrey Michael Cherbaka, a young lawyer diagnosed with
leukemia who died at the age of 28. To pay him the greatest
tribute and to celebrate his determination, ambition and zest
for life, his parents, Michèle and Norman Cherbaka, created this
endowment fund. Each year, two bursaries are awarded to
graduate students and doctors in postgraduate training at the
Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital to foster the next generation
of researchers dedicated to leukemia research.
